Originally designed for my parents Wedding Anniversary, at first my Mum thought these were real!
Gauge is not important for this project as flowers come in various sizes.
This pattern has instructions available in both written and charted form.
The instructions for the carnations come in four sizes, which can be mixed to give a more realistic looking bouquet. Multiple carnations could be combined and arranged as a wedding bouquet. Single flower heads could be made and used as buttonholes or corsage at a wedding.
In the main colour you will need:
- Bud and Small Carnations - 40 yards/36 m
- Medium carnation - 80 yards/73 m
- Large carnation - 125 yards/115 m
You will also need approx 6 yards/5 m of green thread for the calyx. If working the last round in alternate colour, then 10-25 yards/10-23 metres of a second colour is required per carnation.
