The headbands are worked as bands rather than in the round, allowing for straightforward construction and simple seaming.

The Button and Bow Headbands utilize fundamental knitting stitches to create texture and visual interest:

• Moss Stitch (known as seed stitch in US terminology)—a textured stitch that creates a bumpy, woven appearance by alternating knit and purl stitches
• Garter Stitch—the most basic knit stitch, created by knitting every row, producing horizontal ridges and a reversible fabric

Beyond basic stitching, the pattern includes finishing techniques such as seaming. The pattern references a mattress stitch or invisible seam method for joining the band ends seamlessly, creating a professional appearance.
