Product Description
Lovely Aztec designs inspired this mosaic lap blanket.
US terminology is used and the method is Mosaic Overlay Crochet. Most of the designs are either 12 or 24 stitch repeats. There are 9 designs plus the border.
The pattern contains written instructions and charts (marked with Xs) and some photos to help with the border. There are details about how to crochet mosaic and read the charts. DK (8ply) yarn is used in the sample and it measures 44” x 34 1/2” (112 x 88cm). Any yarn can be used. The size can be adjusted by the weight of yarn used and number of repeats made of each design.
It is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out. The pictured blanket has 9 different colours. Yarn used and colours are noted in the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is surprisingly easy, using SC and DC stitches to create a beautiful blanket! If you have not done mosaic overlay crochet before there are a number of videos on YouTube for beginners to this lovely style of crochet.
