Product Description
This is my Christmas present I made for myself with two favorite colors. The AyoGG Pullover is knit from the top down. Each shoulder is knit separately then the front and back of the sweater are joined under the armholes and the body is knit in the round. Finally stitches are picked up along the armholes and the neck, and a rib collar is knit. Sizes: S-M-L Bust circumference: 75/80-85/90-95/100cm Length (measured at back): 55-59-63cm Yarn: Etrofil Angora Luks Number of skeins: 6-7-8 Yardage: 900-1500m Needles: Circular needles 40/60/80cm, Double Pointed Needles size 4,5mm and 3,5mm and 5mm crochet hook. Gauge: 24sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm in stocking stitch on 4,5mm needles after blocking. Thank you so much! Best wishes for all of us. FluffySudon
Ayo GG Pullover by Fluffy Su Don
What is Being Made
The Ayo GG Pullover is a top-down knit sweater designed as a beginner-friendly project. This pullover features a classic silhouette with set-in sleeves and is available in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The bust circumference ranges from 75-80cm for size Small, 85-90cm for size Medium, and 95-100cm for size Large. The back length measurements are 55cm, 59cm, and 63cm respectively across the three sizes, providing options for different body proportions and style preferences.
Construction Techniques
The Ayo GG Pullover employs a sophisticated top-down construction method that builds the sweater in distinct sections. The pattern begins by working the top of the back flat on straight needles, establishing the foundation for the garment. Stitches are then picked up along the cast-on edge to create the arms, with each shoulder knit separately to allow for precise shaping. Once the shoulder sections are complete, the front and back pieces are joined together under the armholes, and the body transitions to circular knitting for seamless construction in the round. This method reduces seaming and creates a more polished finished garment. To complete the sweater, stitches are picked up along the armholes and neckline, where a ribbed collar is knit to provide a neat, finished edge.
Stitches Used
- Stockinette Stitch: The primary stitch throughout the sweater, creating a smooth, classic fabric with a flat knit face and reverse purl back
- Ribbing: Used for the collar to provide elasticity and a tailored finish at the neckline
Materials and Gauge
The Ayo GG Pullover is designed to be knit with Etrofil Angora Luks yarn in varied weights across the three sizes. The yardage requirements are 900m for size Small, 1200m for size Medium, and 1500m for size Large, which translates to 6, 7, and 8 skeins respectively. The pattern requires multiple needle sizes to achieve proper construction: 4.5mm circular needles (available in 40cm, 60cm, and 80cm lengths) for the main body and sleeves, 3.5mm double-pointed needles for ribbed sections, and a 5mm crochet hook for finishing details. The recommended gauge is 24 stitches and 30 rows over a 10cm square in stockinette stitch on 4.5mm needles after blocking, which is essential for achieving the correct finished dimensions.
