Artume

Artume (named for an Etruscan moon goddess) is a garter stitch shawl knit side to side and bottom to top. Simple increases and decreases create the long, crescent-shaped border and its eyelet picot edging, and the main body of the shawl is picked up from the edge and formed into another crescent with short rows. The two stacked crescents create a long shawl with a nice height in the center. Play with color and stripes – you’ll need a couple skeins of fingering weight yarn and just a bit of leftovers for a fun pop of light.
