American Gothic Illusion

Illusion knit based on American Gothic, by Grant Wood.

It has been designed to be viewed from the side so is intended to be a wall hanging, throw or bedspread. When you look from directly in front you only see stripes. The image is revealed when you look from the side.

When knitted using DK it measures approximately 120 cm (48") wide by 140 cm (56") high. It used about 1200 metres in each of two colours. You can use any thickness of yarn. A different yarn would change the overall size'

This is a big piece but it is not difficult.
