Product Description
A Murmuration of Starlings is a wide, stay-put triangle of textured mesh & lace (each of which can be worked to any size), linked by a colourwork detail formed with slipped stitches & cables.
Worked top down, it begins with a wide, shallow triangle, then shifts to a lace edge that makes the centre & edges deeper than a typical triangle. The overall shape can be adjusted to each knitter’s preference by working more of either chart 1 or 3.
Suits any yardage of lace to sport weight yarn, making this a very flexible design. The mesh and lace are both designed to be able to either nicely integrate a variegated yarn, or to show off a solid or gradient, or in this case a marvellous variegated gradient in just the colour of a starling’s iridescence. It is named for the everyday wonder that is a flight of starlings in the air.
- The size of the shawl is adaptable, both the texture stitch and the lace section can be worked to any size.
- Suits any yardage.
Work from written pattern or charts.
