These lacy mittens are worked in slip stitch crochet. They feature a wavy lace pattern at the back of the hand and stretchy ribs to make them sit snuggly. The pattern is symmetrical in the left and right mitten. Variations are given for a version without the lace pattern (just the waves) and for an added thumb. tip: If you do not want to use slip stitches, you can crochet the mittens in the no-lace version with back loop only sc. Before you start, you need to know how to make a chain and how to make a regular slip stitch. The pattern includes written row-by-row instructions, a chart for the lace part, and an extensive technique section, introducing all stitches used (front loop only slip stitch, back loop only slip stitch and inverse back loop only slip stitch), decreases, increases, lace stitches, and an invisible seam in step-by-step picture tutorials.
