When German illustrator Anna Karina Birkenstock asked me to transform her childrens books heroes "Lille und Löwe" to a knitting pattern, I couldn't resist the challenge. Now, after a fair amount of unravelling, I am happy to present you the two cuties! Wouldn't it be a fantastic present for kids – the books (most of them are wordless, so there is no language barrier) and the cuddly softies, knitted by you with shiploads of love!
Thanks to the elaborate pattern, Lille and Lion are feasible for advanced beginners, but truth be told, it would be a challenge. But then, hey, why not give it a try :-)
