Product Description
**25% of all pattern sales will go to Room to Read, a wonderful nonprofit organization that focuses on literacy and gender equality in education in Nepal **The Kathmandu Cowl is dedicated to the family that I housed after the 2015 earthquake in Nepal. In order to give back to the family that taught me different outlook on life, I am releasing a series of patterns inspired by the many colors of Nepal. Named after the capital of Nepal, the Kathmandu Cowl is a bottom up cowl knitted seamlessly in the round. It is designed to use up every single inch of Caron x Pantone’s yarn collaboration or 5 25yd/23m aran mini skeins. In my sample, I chose the colorway Fuchsia Folliage because it reminded me of the jewel tones popular in traditional Nepali fabric. The Kathmandu Cowl begins with a bobble cast on and a garter cuff before becoming a somewhat planned, somewhat sporadic repeat of seed, knit, and garter stitches. The cowl is finished with tiny fringe tassels along the cast on edge.
