A very simple shawl, not too long, not too big, slightly asymmetrical - just right for the moments when you need a little bit of something classy around your neck.

In cotton or linen it will be just the thing for when you need a little breeze cover,  do it in wool and it will brighten up cold winter days giving you all the comfort you need.

The shawl is easy to knit and it can be a perfect ‘knitting in public’ item as there is no stitch counting, no complicated stitch patterns and it very quickly becomes automatic knitting enabling you to drink coffee, have a chat with friends or even watch a movie while doing it.

The shawl is also a great idea for gifts!

To do it you will need 230 - 350 yards of fingering/sport/DK yarn, the amount depends on the size you want to obtain.  I prefer solid colours as to my mind they bring the pattern out much better and emphasize the garter sections, which adds to the elegance.
