Bétula is a very simple triangular shaped shawl that features rows of stockinette and garter stitch. The pattern is worked in three different sections: the very first one alternates rows of stockinette and garter stitch, making it the most meditative and intuitive knit. Then the shawl is divided into two parts: one half of the stitches are put on hold while the other half are worked in garter stitch using short rows. Then when the first half is completed, the stitches that were put on hold are worked in the same manner as the other half.
