This little dress is designed to be easily on and off-able with an envelope neck so no buttons or studs needed.

It has two skirt widths, sleeve lengths and hem options that can be mixed and matched. The 4ply yarn is fine enough to be gentle on babies skin and the bows are knitted separately so where you put them is up to you. There's quite a bit of shaping involved to form the envelope neck but it's very straightforward. This pattern is colour coded to make it easier to follow.

Tension/Gauge 28 sts and 36 rows to 10cm/4 in, over stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles or size required to give correct tension.

Yarn used for this pattern: dress A: sublime baby cashmere merino silk 4ply. (70% extra fine merino, 20% silk, 5% cashmere) 170m/184yds per 50g ball. (5/6/6/7/7) balls .

Dress B: staywise silk/wool/cashmere fingering/4ply. 60% silk, 35% extra fine wool, 5% cashmere. 150m/164yds per 50gm ball. (3/4/4/5/5) balls.
