I was taught to knit by my mother when I was just 4 years old. We used a pair of 6 inch DPNs. I have been knitting ever since. Even being semi-paralysed by an operation didn't stop me, though it did make a mess of my tension for a few years. As you need both hands to a greater extent for crochet than for knitting, I don't do much crochet these days.
I currently work full time, so my knitting (and occasional crocheting)is often having to take a back seat!
