Winchester Waves

The Winchester Waves design produces a fabric with protruding and intentional waves that create depth and should not be blocked out. It flows beautifully and is effortless to modify. If you have the knit stitch down, you can bring this pattern to life!

The inspiration for this design was the stained glass windows found in the Winchester Mystery House located in San Jose, California. Sarah Winchester, the heiress of the Winchester fortune is rumored to have believed in speaking with the dead via seance and psychics. The story tells the tale of a spirit of psychic informing her that many spirits meant her ill will. Therefore, she took it upon herself to confuse them, by building a house where they would forever get lost and be unable to locate her. The 8-room farmhouse grew to 160 rooms by 1922 and never stopped construction during her lifetime. It contained 10,000 windows, many of which were stained glass. Over the years the ornately colored glass has run, creating a striking, wavy app
