**The Wild Red Rose, new and improved design of it’s sister pattern Slow Motion shawl, is made in a classic rectangular shape but narrower and longer to wear it as a scarf. Also, this pattern incorporates more advanced knitting techniques such as a provisional cast on, picots and a picot bind-off. The reversible openwork stitch pattern used in this design is made by combining the rib stitch and eyelet stitch patterns in one; and an overall wave pattern is done by alternating the right leaning and left leaning columns of the rib/eyelet stitch patterns. The resulting fabric looks its best after wet blocking with pins, which is essential in making an airy and light open fabric. **
