They're a great stashbuster project as each pair takes just 182m (200 yds) of each colour (for the 2 colour version shown here) but they'd also look great in a single colour for which you'll need 365m (400yds) of your favourite fingering weight yarn.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe mitts are knitted in a clever combination of slip stitches, stripes and short rows that create bold slanting bands of colour on the back of the hand when they’re worn.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach mitt begins with a provisional crochet cast on and is worked flat in rows (on a circular needle) before the first and last rows are grafted to join at the side of the hand using Kitchener stitch.
