Unicorn Splash Shawl

This project started as a no-brainer stash buster. I just wanted to get rid of this beautiful skein of variegated yarn that looked amazing on the hank, but awful when knitted. I can't stand the colors pooling. The first 6 inches went by and I got bored, so I decided to add a contrast color and work some texture into the design. That wasn't enough though and I wanted to learn a new skill so I decided to add some lace. To find a lace pattern I liked was challenging, but finally I found what I was looking for! A big thank you to my friend from Mary E. Designs for charting my lace, she has been a very big help developing this pattern.

The shawl is worked sideways, adding 1 st every right side row by doing a yo. It consists of 9 different stitch patterns; Stockinette, Honey Comb and reverse Honey Comb, Linen Stitch and Half Linen Stitch, two different Lace, Slipped Cables and Mosaic Cables.
