This hat was one of my final two projects for the Master Hand Knitter certification program of The Knitting Guild Association. The design includes two cable patterns, bobbles, twisted stitches and background and filler stitches.
Finished Measurements: Brim circumference 21” (53.3cm) Length from crown to base of ear 9.5” (24.1cm) The length is between that of a beanie and a slouch.
Needles required: Size 8 (5mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge Size 8 (5mm) double-pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge
The yarn I used for the hat was Donegal Yarns ORIGINAL ARAN NATURAL YARN (200 g/7 oz; 322 yds/295 m, 100% wool) 1 skein natural light cream white (báinín). It required less than 1 full skein.
