There is Water at the Bottom of the Ocean

When starting with the luxurious, drape-y, 100% silk yarn it was inevitable that this shawl was going to evoke water.

Worked from the top down this is not quite your average triangle shawl. The edge increases create a slowly expanding reverse stockinette ground with tendrils of seaweed and the "spine" increases develop into dolphin tails traipsing down the center of the shawl.

Reflected and alternating trigger fish swim through mesh creating undulating patterns that evoke the dappling of light across the sandy bottom of crystal clear turquoise waters.

Instructions are included both charted and fully written out. Stitches used are average lace knitting increase & decreases. While not exactly a pattern for beginning lace knitters, people with a couple of lace shawls under their belt will find it an enjoyable knit.
