Product Description
I tried to make a monster and it turned into a rabbit. For halloween I added a hat and broomstick. Is it a monster, rabbit or witch? I do not know, but it is very cute.
The Pink Rabbit Monster Witch Amigurumi Toy
What Is Being Made
The Pink Rabbit Monster Witch is a crocheted amigurumi toy designed by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen. This handmade stuffed creature stands approximately 6 inches tall (excluding the hat) and combines whimsical character elements with a playful monster aesthetic. The finished toy features a rabbit-inspired design with distinctive monster characteristics, complete with a coordinating hat and broom accessory.
Crochet Techniques Used
This intermediate-level crochet project employs the amigurumi technique, which involves creating three-dimensional stuffed toys through continuous rounds of crocheting. The pattern works in continuous rounds without joining or turning between rounds (except where specifically noted in instructions), and uses stitch markers to identify the beginning of each new round. The construction method builds the toy from the bottom up, starting with the body and head sections.
Stitches and Abbreviations
The pattern utilizes fundamental crochet stitches appropriate for amigurumi construction:
- Chain (ch) — the foundation stitch used to begin sections
- Single Crochet (sc) — the primary stitch for building dense, sturdy fabric
- Half Double Crochet (hdc) — used for varied texture and structure
- Double Crochet (dc) — provides taller stitches for specific shaping
- Slip Stitch (sl) — used for joining when required
Materials and Tools
The pattern is designed with flexibility, allowing crafters to use any yarn weight paired with an appropriately sized hook. The designer's sample uses 4 ply yarn3.00 mm crochet hook. The color palette includes light pink for the main body, dark pink for inner ear details, and pink for the hat and broom components.
Additional materials required include polyester fiber for stuffing the toy, creating the characteristic plump amigurumi shape. For facial features, the pattern calls for black 10 mm buttons used as eyes, though alternative eyes may be substituted as desired. Construction is completed with a tapestry needle for weaving in yarn ends and a sewing needle with matching thread for securely attaching the button eyes. The pattern also incorporates 7 inches of iron wire, which provides internal structure and allows for poseable limbs or positioning of the finished toy.
