The Merlon Mittens - Age 0-3 Years

Inspired by the Merlons that adorn the battlements of old castles, the deceptively simple colorwork of these mittens create a stunning historically inspired look that harp back to the days of medieval tapestries and knights. These gorgeous little mittens are perfect for keeping little hands cosy on cold days. Made using both a main/cuff coloured yarn and a contrasting colour for the simple slip stitch Merlon pattern, these are the perfect modern twist to a classic make. These use very little yarn to make, using less than 50g of DK weight yarn per pair – all while avoiding having to use those pesky double pointed needles or difficult colour-work!
