I was struck by how contained the woman in the painting appeared, especially due to the goldfish in the bowl next to her. I immediately wanted to design my own Mackerel Shawl and show it outside closer to nature. This is the result.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is a rectangular shawl with fishtail border knitted first, followed by the body section which has columns of mackerel separated by wave lace.After the body section, the second border is grafted on using Kitchener stitch.
