What is Being Made

The Textured Heart Cushion is a modern crochet cushion cover designed to fit a 45cm/18 inch square cushion. The project features a striking textured heart motif on the front, created using contrasting crochet stitches, with decorative button closures on the back. The cushion cover is constructed from a single long rectangle that is folded and sewn along the sides to form the finished cover.

Techniques Used

This project employs Tunisian crochet techniques throughout, which creates a fabric with a unique texture and structure. The design combines two distinct Tunisian stitch variations to achieve visual contrast and interest. The cushion is worked flat in rows, with the heart motif integrated into the pattern through a charted design. After the crochet work is complete, the rectangle is folded and sewn down the sides, and buttons are attached to the back for a functional closure.
