Terrific Tiara

This is a gorgeous beanie for any little princesses or queens out there. It involves a simple seed stitch rib for the band, a seed stitch peak, a stocking stitch crown and a felted I-cord decoration. It is knitted-in-the-round. The peak requires a certain stiffness so 100% wool is a good choice, but there is no need for an expensive fine yarn as it doesn't touch the face at all. The crown can be wool or a wool blend. Acrylic should be fine. The cord decoration must be feltable wool, as it is knitted I-cord that is then hand felted. There is some hand sewing involved to attach the cord to the peak. You will need to pick up and knit stitches. Instructions are detailed and there are plenty of explanatory photos. Included is a sheet about circular knitting basics as abbreviations and techniques used. Gauge is 22sts/10cm or 5 1/2 sts/1 in over stocking stitch.Yardage is approximately 262m/286yards for smaller size and 325m/355yards for larger size.
