Teddy Bears Picnic

You don’t need to go down to the woods for this Teddy Bear’s Picnic; this playtime set will delight your little ones. The grass play mat can also be turned into a storage basket by pulling on the drawstring cord around the edges. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The picnic blanket incorporates stranded colour-work to make the gingham check pattern, and picking up stitches along an edge. For intermediate knitters and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. The grass play mat measures 31cm across, each bears sits at 12cm tall, the picnic blanket is 11cm x 12cm, the basket (excluding handle) is 6cm wide x 4cm long x 3.5cm tall, and the foods are up to 4cm long.
