Product Description
The Summerly scarf is not just a scarf, it’s also a cowl, depending on your needs of the day. With decorative buttons, it's easy to convert from scarf to cowl.
It grew out of wanting to make the most of two balls of Rowan Summerspun, a yarn especially suited for summer with 50 % merino and 50 % cotton.
The Summerly scarf and cowl can be made with your DK yarn of choice with good stitch definition. If using worsted yarn, you will need to adjust the needle size accordingly. Included are directions for a small one ball cowl.
Pattern has written instructions and is charted.
MEASUREMENTS Finished (lightly blocked, approximate) measurements for the convertible scarf/cowl (large): 18 cm/7 inch wide, 132 cm/52 inch long. Small cowl (8 repeats): 18 cm/7 inch high, 43 cm/17 inch around.
TECHNIQUES USED Knit, purl, k2tog, yo and slipping stitches / passing over, cast on and cast off. For the small cowl: provisional cast on and kitchener stitch.
