Stretchable Beanie small

This pattern is offered free forever, and has just one size (baby-toddler) which should fit ages from 3-6 months up to 2-3 years - the beanie has a surprising amount of stretch!

•• This pattern is the free version of the paid “Stretchable Beanie” pattern in my store (which has all 5 sizes from newborn through to large adult). ••

The pattern uses DK wool or merino because of the springiness required for the stretch. Using other yarn blends will affect the fit.

Tubular Italian cast on is recommended for a neat smooth finish, but any stretchy cast on may be used if desired.

Wear with the brim folded up to shorten the height, or unfolded for a taller beanie. This is the perfect design for a subtle gradient!
