Strand Hill Lace Cardigan by Keya Kuhn
What is Being Made
The Strand Hill Lace Cardigan is a top-down, seamless knitted cardigan designed by Keya Kuhn. This garment features delicate Estonian lace patterning on the front and back panels, creating an elegant and refined aesthetic. The cardigan is available in six sizes, with finished bust measurements ranging from 31 inches to 50.25 inches, and is designed to be worn with 2 inches of positive ease for comfortable, relaxed fit.
Knitting Techniques
This intermediate-level cardigan is constructed using the top-down, seamless method, which allows knitters to try on the garment as it progresses and adjust length as needed. The seamless construction eliminates the need for seaming, resulting in a polished, professional finish. Estonian lace techniques are incorporated into the front and back panels, adding intricate openwork detailing that showcases the delicate nature of the design.
Stitches and Stitch Patterns
The primary stitch used throughout the Strand Hill Lace Cardigan is stockinette stitch, which provides a smooth, classic fabric base. The cardigan features Estonian lace stitches on the front and back panels, introducing decorative openwork elements that contrast beautifully with the stockinette sections. These lace patterns require intermediate knitting skills and add visual interest and sophistication to the finished garment.
