Stormborn

Stormborn is the name I’ve borrowed from Game of Thrones. I’ve been a superfan of that show ever since it started. If you have not watched the show, here is some background information about it: Daenerys Targaryen, is also known as Daenerys Stormborn, she is a fictional character in George R. R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series of novels, as well as the television adaptation, Game of Thrones.

So not only was I watching Game of Thrones whilst I was designing and testing this shawl but I can imagine this Stormborn shawl as something Daenerys would wear.

The pattern is written out and charted. The shawl is knit in three parts: The yolk, the wings and lastly the cable applique section. Alternatively, you could just knit the yolk and use it like a cape. If you knit the yolk section in white or ivory, it could be used by a bride on their special day!

I do hope you love knitting this shawl, I feel almost regal when I wear it. I hope you do too.
