Southwest Rug

As seen in I Like Crochet magazine's June 2018 issue! This rug’s design was inspired by the beautiful San Juan mountains of southwest Colorado where the designer lives. Bobble stitches create a lovely texture that is soft on the feet. Knotted fringe adds to the bohemian feel.

This is an intermediate pattern that requires chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and half double crochet stitches. Pattern is written in US terms and includes explanations of all stitches and abbreviations. US and metric measurements given.

Finished dimensions are about 37 by 48 inches (94 by 122 cm) without fringe and 37 by 56 inches (94 by 142 cm) including fringe.

Requires 9 cakes of Mandala yarn (dk weight, 5,310 yards/4,860 m) and 434 yards/396 m of worsted weight yarn for the border and fringe. The body of the rug is worked using two strands of Mandala at once and a 4 mm hook.
