Knitting Techniques and Stitches

Wrap and Turn (W&T): This shaping technique is employed within the garter stitch sections to create the shawl's contoured silhouette. The Wrap and Turn method involves placing the working yarn to the wrong side, slipping the next stitch purlwise to the right needle, bringing the working yarn back to the right side, and slipping the stitch back to the left needle before turning the work. On subsequent rows, the wrapped stitch is knitted as a normal stitch, allowing the wrap to integrate seamlessly into the fabric. This technique is particularly effective in garter stitch, where the wrap naturally disappears into the textured surface of the knit.
