I've made several woven projects with Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 120, and like it a lot. Some colors split a bit more than others, but on the whole, it's strong enough to serve as a warp on a rigid heddle loom - no breakage in any project. It washes well. I've made a baby blanket, a shawl, and a scarf so far.

I held the yarn double with some lace-weight boucle to make a pair of mittens and a beanie. The colour is lovely, really vibrant, exactly how it looked on my screen. It's not super soft like you would expect from a superwash merino, but on the bright side, that means it feels sturdier. Excellent stitch definition. Although it did grow a little after blocking (handwash), that's to be expected, and the growth wasn't as significant as with other superwash merinos I've used. That said, this was...
I bought yarn which they sent.
The Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 120 yarn is excellent. It is soft, tightly spun, does not pill, is easy care (machine wash and dry), is excellent for cables, - AND it was on sale. Oh yes, and they have these nifty little paper tabs that capture the end of the yarn from the middle of the pull skein. How nice of them.
Full marks for customer service
I haven’t finished the jumpers yet, but the yarn is nice to knit. I’ve got two shades of blue, both of which are vibrant. Definitely buy an extra ball of the main colour to what the pattern says. The design on the front is easy to follow and has come out really well, although I am using small dome-shaped, shiny black buttons for the snowman’s buttons and eyes.
Genuinely brilliant Company
I have bought yarns several times mostly pure wool from Canada, UK and Germany and all were lovely to knit with. Have also bought Acrylic which knitted up very well. All yarns wash and wear very well. Have used an American pattern and the designer was most helpful when US terminology differed from UK
Great site, selection, prices and delivery! Keeps me coming back
Very good quality Merino yarn. The S-ply is so nice to work with, no splitting. This is soft wool and nice to knit with. The colors shown on the site match what I received. I have looked at many other merino yarns and few compare with this price range.
Huge choice, easy website, best value around
Lovely quality - very soft, machine washable and great value
Couldn't be happier with my overall experience.
Knits well, I like the colors, soft, not itching.
I LOVE this yarn and have previously worked with it. This yarn is super soft and works up nicely with good stitch definition. This is my favorite yarn to use when knitting gloves.
I loved the yarn that I purchased. It was exactly like the description. The color was beautiful and matched the online picture as shown.
