This 2-in-1 pattern is unique because Version 1 blends two different weights of yarn--Super Bulky 6 and Jumbo 7--to create the final project. Version 2 uses only Jumbo 7 for the entire project, if you have found the perfect colors in that weight. My cousin did not, which is what led to the creation of this pattern.)

I have the full story at the beginning of the pattern, but in a nutshell my cousin had seen my sunflower sea turtle and asked me to help her make one "a little bigger", eliminate the petals, and "It won't be a problem if the yarns are different weights, right?" Her desired colors didn't exist in the same weight. Three (3) additional problems: 1) "A little bigger" actually meant at least 18", whereas my existing pattern was only 6” in diameter, 2) she was coming from out-of-town and only had 3 working days to spend with me, and 3) she’d never made a plushie before...
