As my mom would read the simple alphabet book over and over, I remember wishing that my grandmother had such an elegant doll with all her fascinating accessories.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis sock pattern is was designed in reference to the part of the book which talks about the ribbons for the doll’s hair. Ribbons She Ties is a toe-up sock with a heel flap and gusset. The side of the sock is adorned with a simple cable pattern that resembles a twisted ribbon. Three bows are knit into the cable pattern near the cuff of the sock. When designing this pattern, I was first inspired by hair ribbons. As I took more inspiration from the illustrations throughout the book, I also became inspired by the fashion of the mid 1800’s.
