Receeding Shells Beanie and Scarf

This is a crochet pattern for a pretty yet simple hat and scarf. It features a close shell pattern with ribbed stitching around the band of the hat and at the ends of the scarf. The scarf features buttons that allow you to wear it either as a regular scarf or as a cowl.

Sized to fit the average adult (head 21-22 inches). The scarf is about 65 inches long. You could easily make this a little bigger or smaller by using a larger or smaller crochet hook.

Requires Worsted weight yarn and size I (5.5mm) crochet hook or hook required to obtain correct guage. Also three buttons about 1 1/8 inches.
