Hook: 2.5 mm crochet hook recommended as the primary size. A 2.5–3 mm hook is suitable for 3-ply/no. 10 thread, with flexibility to choose a hook appropriate for your specific yarn weight.

Notions: Stitch markers for tracking rounds and pattern repeats; a wool or darning needle for weaving in ends and finishing.

Optional: A 50 cm diameter craft ring, which the designer used in the original sample.

Gauge and Sizing

Rounds 1–7 measure 10 cm in diameter (using American crochet terms). The finished piece reaches 48 cm in diameter, allowing crafters to adjust sizing by stopping at an earlier round or continuing beyond the pattern if desired.
