Description: Knit two Polar Bear Hats featuring a fair isle bear motif with snowflakes above. The pattern includes a bobble hat topped with a pompom and a teabag hat with two pompoms. Both designs are worked flat on straight needles in double knitting (DK) wool, with a chart provided for the motif. Bobble noses are knitted separately and sewn on.
Sizes: Five sizes to fit children aged 6–12m, 1–2y, 2–3y, 4–5y and 6–7y.
Skill Level: Intermediate. Experience of fair isle knitting and reading a chart recommended.
Yarn: Double knitting wool (USA light worsted / Australian 8 ply). The hats shown use Sirdar Snuggly DK Denim Blue (326) and White (251), plus Sirdar No. 1 Charcoal (235).
Needles: 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles.
