What Is Being Made

Only Good Vibes is a knitted shawl designed as a wearable reminder to embrace positivity and appreciate the good things in life. This intermediate-level project combines two distinct luxury yarns—Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light and Hedgehog Fibers Alpaca Bouclé—to create a soft, dreamy fabric with romantic visual appeal. The shawl celebrates the beauty of collaboration and unity through its thoughtful construction.

Design Construction and Technique

The shawl is worked flat, beginning from the left tip and progressing toward the right edge. A center stitch runs through the middle of the construction, establishing the shawl's structural foundation. The stitch count increases on both sides as the piece develops, creating the characteristic expanding shape of a shawl worked from tip to edge.

Stitches and Stitch Patterns

The design pairs garter stitch with lace sections to create visual interest and textural contrast. This combination of solid and openwork areas demonstrates how different stitch techniques can work together harmoniously, mirroring the shawl's message about collaboration and lifting each other up.

• Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light: 100% Merino wool; 420 yards per skein; 1 skein in "Copper Pink Solid" colorway (sample used 94 g / 395 yards)
• Hedgehog Fibers Alpaca Bouclé: 66% Alpaca, 34% Silk blend; 678 yards per skein; 1 skein in "Taffy" colorway (sample used 97 g / 658 yards)
• Appropriate needles for sport-weight yarn construction
