The Old Shale Lace stitch pattern on the lower part is easier to knit than it looks !

’Old Shale’ is a traditional Shetland lace knitting pattern ~ it was probably originally called ‘Old Shell’.

It gives a pretty, lacy effect - no wonder it is so popular

Sizes: 23" chest, approx age 1 - 2 years 25" chest, approx age 3 - 4 years

There is a choice of long or short sleeves.

Requires: DK yarn 4mm needles 3 or 5 buttons
