Nid d'Abeilles

"Nid d'abeilles" is the French for the structural element of "Honeycomb", and means literally "nest of bumblebees": a textured and comfortable garment to snuggle into during al fresco diners.

Sizing XS (S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X)

• To fit cross-back width (measured shoulder to shoulder): 37 (38, 42, 44.5, 44.5, 45.5, 45.5) cm [14½ (15, 16½, 17½, 17½, 18, 18) in]
• To fit around torso and arms (measured around the torso and upper arms with arms resting along the body): 101 (112.5, 124.5, 137, 151, 166.5, 180.5) cm [39¾ (44¼, 49, 54, 59½, 65½, 71) in]

Needles and Notions

• 3.25 mm (US 4) needles ― circular or straight
• 3.75 mm (US ) circular needles (or size required to achieve gauge) ― at least 150 cm [60 in] 2 needed
• 7 (7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9) toggles, size 36 mm [1⅜ in]
• cable needle
• 12 stitch markers
• tapestry needle
• grosgrain ribbon: 2.25 cm [⅞ in], approximately 250 cm [100 in]
• sewing needle, thread and pins

Gauge

• 30 sts and 32 rows / 10 cm [4 in], measured over honeycomb pattern with larger needles after blocking.
• 21 sts and 32 rows / 10cm (4 in) over double moss stitch with larger needles, after blocking.
• 40 sts and 37 rows / 10 cm 4 in, measured over honeycomb pattern with smaller needles after blocking.
