Mexicana Shawl With Sleeves

This shawl has an unusual history. I made it, along with other pieces, for The 2018 Crafts Fair in Mexico City. That's how the whole collection got its name - Mexicana. So my shawls travelled all the way from Serbia to Middle America but this one crossed the ocean once again, back into my possession, as it was too small.

The second shaw with sleeves, the colourful one that I started crocheting for writing the instructions, turned out to be too big. I made it by holding 2 strands of yarn and working with hook No 6. Adding fringe would have made it really enormous, plus the front ends were dangling all the way to my knees. Therefore, I came up with a different idea - I sewed the side seams and got an oversized cardi.

I'm quite pleased with the result, and it has been keeping me warm in this never-coming spring time...
