Merry Un-Birthday Hat

There are only 364 days a year to celebrate your Un-Birthday! The slipped stitches create a dense, wearable confection to keep away the winter chill. While the super stretchy ribbed texture allows this hat to fit a wide range of heads, from tween to medium adult.

The finished dimensions (18-19.5") will fit a head size from 20-22" comfortably. Folding up the brim of the long brim style will result in a tighter fit.

Any two strands of fingering weight yarn can be held together. You will need 415-630 yards (depending on length of brim and number of repeats).

This hat can make a great stash buster project! My long brim version used 9 different yarns with total weights ranging from 37g to less than 5g (total weight 145g). Other versions used two 50g skeins or a single 100g skein.

Materials Needed: 16" size 6/4mm circular needle and corresponding DPNs for the top of the crown. Yarn Needle (for weaving in ends), Beginning of Round Marker, Pom-Pom (if desired)
