The Mabel McTavish Mug Cosy was designed as a workshop project to teach the steeking technique. It is now available as a training pattern for those who wish to try this technique at home. Worked ‘in the round’, with a steeked opening for the handle, this quick and practical knit will be finished in no time. The cosy instructions can be worked in both Small and Large sizes with tips provided to produce a custom fit for your own mug. Clear instructions and photographic tutorials guide the knitter through the required techniques making this design a ‘simple’ knit for the experienced knitter or the perfect first project for those who have never steeked before.
The sample shown is knitted in yarn from the Isle of Harris in Scotland. However, Rowan Felted Tweed is an excellent substitute.
