The gauge given on the description above is for the larger needle size and aran or worsted weight yarn.
I got 7 stitches and 9 rows/inch using sock yarn and size 4 needles.
The inspiration for this pattern comes from Miss Steele’s obvious desire to marry well, her chatter about trimming and finery, and generally fussy demeanor as compared to Elinor Dashwood. Beading and lace are plentiful, but the seamless construction leaves blissfully little finishing at the end. I’ve knitted up the same pattern in two sizes using different gauges & yarn
