Lucky Thirteen Granny

Granny squares and motifs are my favorite projects to work on. I was looking to create a pattern with a lot of texture and one that was not too open since I was creating a blanket for warmth. 

I created many samples with many different yarns, I used Arans for the mixed color squares and cotton for the solids pictured here. Please use manufacturer recommended hook for your yarn choice.

This is an advanced pattern, using front and back post stitches, stitches formed “together,” and assumes that you have good control over tension and can adjust it as you see the need (this greatly depends on the yarn you are using).
