Materials and Gauge

The Lizzy Lid requires 50 grams of worsted weight yarn, approximately 100 yards total. Sample hats in the pattern were created using Cascade 220 (teal green) and Misti Alpaca Worsted (blue violet), demonstrating the pattern's versatility with different fiber types. Knitters will need one circular needle and one set of double-pointed needles in US #6 (4mm) or US #7 (4.5mm), or the size required to achieve proper gauge. The recommended gauge is 9 stitches by 18 rounds equals 2 inches when working the K2, P6 stitch pattern slightly stretched. Gauge achievement may vary by yarn choice — the pattern notes that Cascade 220 achieved this gauge on US #7 needles while Misti Alpaca Worsted achieved it on US #6 needles.
