Little Nightmares Girl Six and Nomes Crochet Dolls
What Is Being Made
This downloadable PDF pattern by designer Jenny Ng features instructions for creating two crocheted dolls inspired by Little Nightmares: Girl Six and Nomes. Girl Six is a larger doll measuring 16 cm (6.25 inches) tall, while Nomes is a smaller companion doll at 9 cm (3.5 inches) tall. These are amigurumi-style dolls designed for advanced crocheters seeking a detailed character project.
Difficulty Level and Construction Methods
The pattern is rated at intermediate to advanced difficulty level. Crocheters have the flexibility to work using two different construction techniques: join version (JV) for traditional joined rounds, or spiral version (SV) for continuous spiral rounds. This dual-method approach allows makers to choose their preferred crochet technique while achieving the same finished dolls.
Crochet Stitches and Techniques Used
The pattern utilizes fundamental amigurumi stitches and techniques essential for creating three-dimensional doll structures:
- Magic ring (MR) – for starting rounds with a closed center
- Single crochet (Sc) – the primary stitch for building doll body parts
- Chain stitch (CH) – for creating connecting elements and structural details
- Slip stitch (Ss) – for joining rounds in the join version method
- Increase (Inc) – for expanding stitches to shape rounded body sections
- Invisible decrease (Invdec) – for seamless stitch reduction
- Decrease (Dec) – for tapering and shaping doll features
Yarn and Materials
The pattern calls for DK weight yarn in five coordinating colors: black, golden yellow, light yellow, beige, and light brown. The sample pictured uses Aislon Candy P07 Yarn, a 100% acrylic yarn (40g skeins) sourced from Taiwan. This acrylic yarn choice makes the dolls durable and easy-care, ideal for decorative or play pieces.
Additional materials required include soft cotton stuffing for filling the dolls, aluminum wire in varying lengths (25cm, 13.5cm, 14cm, and 8.5cm) for internal structure and posability, and standard crochet tools: a 1.75mm (size 0/0) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, and stitch marker.
Gauge and Sizing Flexibility
The pattern notes that exact gauge is not critical for success, allowing crocheters to work with different hook sizes if desired. When using a larger crochet hook than specified, an additional 5–10 cm of aluminum wire should be added to accommodate the larger finished doll size. This flexibility makes the pattern adaptable to individual preferences and available materials.
