This blanket project employs a variety of crochet stitches worked in rows to create its structure and visual interest. The design requires intermediate-level crochet skills and assumes the maker is comfortable with basic crochet stitches and fundamental crochet terminology. The pattern incorporates colour changes throughout the design, which adds to the floral aesthetic and requires the crocheter to be proficient in changing yarn colours seamlessly. The finishing border is described as simple but pretty, providing a polished edge to the blanket without requiring advanced techniques.
Successful completion of the Little Flowers Blanket requires the following skills and knowledge:
The Little Flowers Blanket pattern is designed using acrylic yarn in DK/light worsted weight. The pattern is flexible regarding yarn choice—crafters may substitute alternate acrylic yarns of different weights, provided they use the hook size recommended by the yarn manufacturer for their chosen yarn. When substituting yarn weights, crafters should carefully recalculate and adjust the total yardage required for the project to ensure adequate yarn for completion.
This pattern is provided as a downloadable PDF document that includes both UK terms and US terms versions. The document contains 14 pages total: pages 1–7 present the pattern written in UK crochet terminology, while pages 8–14 contain the same pattern written in US crochet terminology. Crafters should print only the pages corresponding to their preferred terminology to avoid confusion during the making process.
Rated as intermediate difficulty, this blanket project is ideal for crocheters who have moved beyond absolute beginner level and possess solid foundational skills. The project encourages crafters to apply their knowledge of basic stitches in a larger, more involved project while introducing the coordination required for colour changes and multi-stitch pattern work.
