Linky-Loo Cowl
- an original design by Fiona Langtry for ReVe Design Co
Create a gorgeously textured circle scarf (or cowl) while learning or practicing linked stitches!
The use of the linked stitch throughout this pattern, not only gives a beautiful texture and reversible look to the fabric, but also means your scarf will be stretchy!
A true “one skein” project, this pattern is perfect for some beautiful home-spun-style yarn, a bargain pickup, or something luxurious.
Chunky yarn is recommended, but this cowl can be made using most yarns - just use a hook 2-3 sizes larger than recommended (and adjust the stitch counts).

Linky-Loo Cowl by Fiona Langtry
What is Being Made
The Linky-Loo Cowl is an original crochet design by Fiona Langtry that creates a relaxed infinity scarf. This cowl is designed to loop around the neck once or twice, making it a versatile accessory piece suitable for various occasions and seasons depending on yarn choice. The pattern uses US crochet terminology and is classified as an intermediate-level project.
Yarn and Materials
This pattern requires 100 meters of chunky weight yarn (12ply) and a 10mm crochet hook. The designer notes that alternative yarn weights can be substituted by selecting a hook 2-3 sizes larger than the standard recommendation for that particular yarn weight, though this will require adjusting stitch counts accordingly. The chunky yarn weight creates a quick, satisfying project that works up relatively quickly while maintaining excellent drape and visual interest.
Crochet Techniques and Stitches
The Linky-Loo Cowl features linked stitches as its primary technique, which gives the pattern its distinctive name and visual character. Linked stitches create a unique textured appearance by connecting stitches in a specific manner that differs from traditional stitch construction. This intermediate-level technique adds visual depth and creates an interesting fabric structure while remaining accessible to crocheters with foundational skills and experience working with basic stitches.
